International Capitalism Profits from the Annihilation of the Palestinian People

Because we are human, unfailingly human, Because we are human, unfailingly human,we can no longer bear the destruction, the incessant crash of bombs, and the assassinations of children, women, and men in Gaza, day after day, tear after tear.

Because we are human, tirelessly human, we reject all pretexts that would seek to justify the deaths of newborns and children recorded as collateral damage, not of a "conflict," as it is repeated from the cushioned armchairs of a complicit West, but of a war of annexation of one country by another.

Because we are human, irresistibly human, we cry out the right of the Palestinian people to exist, to live, to create, to build their State and institutions on their land, alongside the Israeli people..

Because we are human, more human than ever, we reject the ongoing inhumanity, from the highest echelons of the most powerful states to the studios of the most subservient media. One that, far from our eyes, leads to the meticulous organisation of the elimination, the destruction of a people.

This unleashing of inhumanity upon the Palestinians is only possible with the active participation of North American leaders and the implicit support of a coalition of dominant forces within the European Union. This is further evidenced by the joint vote of the right, the far-right, and the Macronists against the suspension of association agreements between the European Union and the State of Israel. Yet, the conditions enshrined in Article 2 of this treaty are constantly violated. Even worse, these deputies refused to vote for an amendment according to which France must respect the decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Do they want France to withdraw its signature to join the American and Israeli far-right?

Decidedly, the brown metastases of Trumpism are spreading very quickly to widely reach the French political body responsible for protecting the dominant classes.

The reasons for this are understood upon reading the report by the United Nations Special Rapporteur, Francesca Albanese, presented on July 3rd to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Because we are human, politically human, we understand better, with this text, that international big capital opposes human life, the right of peoples to self-determination, and all human rights. Its intensive cultivation of hatred is proportionate to the profits generated by war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. We discover in this report, with disgust, that since the Israeli military offensive on Gaza, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange has risen by 179% and accumulated a windfall of 157.9 billion dollars in market value.Undoubtedly, the intersection of international big capital and its "traders" who dance far from the acrid smoke, the thick dust, and the death left behind by American-made bombs, see in this charnel house and these destructions, profits yet to come.

Consequently, one better understands the hypocrisies contained in every call for peace uttered by the capital's representatives, who obviously consider the war criminal Netanyahu one of their best representatives-mandatories. Israeli hostages? They don't care.

When one sees bulldozers destroying olive trees in the West Bank or destroying a home in Gaza… When one sees a bomb fall on a hospital… When one discovers the extent of surveillance, particularly at checkpoints and from the top of watchtowers spying day and night on the separation wall… One must look closely at the brands of the equipment and engines of death and destruction in action. They are often manufactured in the United States and Europe to support a colonial economy and a genocidal economy. And to profit from it, to profit from it again and again.

Thus, the American Caterpillar, the Korean HD Hyundai, or the Swedish Volvo participate in the destruction of infrastructure in the West Bank, Gaza, and the construction of illegal settlements.

The American arms company Lockheed Martin tested its new F-35 warplane loaded with bombs dropped on Palestinians. Francesca Albanese's Report estimates at least 179,000 Palestinians killed or injured due to this aircraft and the F-16 bomber.Obviously, the two Israeli arms companies, Elbit Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, inflate their profits as Palestinian children die.

The Italian group Leonardo S.p.A. supplies radars and military components… The Danish shipping giant Maersk handles the logistics of sensitive cargo to Israeli ports. Large digital companies provide biometric and electronic surveillance. Far from any ethics, one finds IBM, NSO with its Pegasus software alongside Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. The lords of American Tech use Palestine as a testing ground for their military technologies.

International high finance injects funds into war-partnering companies and into the Israeli state budget. One finds once again the BlackRock and Vanguard funds, Barclays, Pimco, the Norwegian sovereign fund GPFG alongside Axa or BNP Paribas, which, by purchasing Israeli bonds, has enabled participation in the doubling of the Israeli military budget, aid to the Elbit Systems arms group, and other companies participating in the financing of infrastructure in Israeli settlements.

Definitely, capitalism is an anti-humanism. The principles of morality and law have definitively abandoned it.

Moreover, one understands its determination to demand the destruction of law and all norms, since corporate responsibility is now enshrined in the UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights. They must thus ensure that their activities do not contribute to their violation and take steps to remedy it. Francesca Albanese rightly recalled that historical precedents exist with the trial of German industrialists at the Nuremberg tribunal or during the truth and justice commission in South Africa.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) had, several months ago, warned of a "real and imminent risk of genocide" and ordered measures to prevent it. These remained a dead letter. The impunity of large corporations can no longer last. Their workers, in all professions, must at least question their leaders about the meaning of their work, protest against these participations in war crimes and genocide. All citizens, local and national elected officials, trade unionists, and representatives of workers committed to international law can rely on this official document, the Albanese report, to act to obtain a total arms embargo, sanctions against implicated companies and financial institutions, the referral of national and international courts for complicity in war crimes. And also, to demand investigations to shed light on the traceability of material supply chains and financial circuits. Workers, dominated, exploited, do not go to their hard labour to manufacture what will serve the annihilation of their fellow human beings while big capital gets twice the jackpot. Once by extracting surplus value from the exploitation of labour allowing the manufacture of crime weapons. A second time, by selling these engines of death at exorbitant prices.

Because we are human, in solidarity human, we condemn, we refuse, we fight a system that starves the population of Gaza while international capitalism becomes obese with profits generated by crime.

In the name of truth, in the name of our humanity, we will have to defend Francesca Albanese who, following this report, is the object of the White House's wrath, which now wants to ban her from entering the United States. This is because these people, nurtured by rising proto-fascism, favour the circulation of capital, trade in death with the free circulation of weapons, but are against the free circulation of human beings, that of migrants as well as those who seek truth. In pronouncing his sentence, the North American foreign minister himself denounced the inequity of the Trump administration's practices and motivations. He reproaches Francesca Albanese, and I quote: "illegitimate and shameful efforts to incite the International Criminal Court to take action against corporate officials and American and Israeli leaders." This gives even more force to the UN report. This also indicates the persistence of hatred for international law in the name of defending a predatory capitalism that feeds on death and destruction.

Everything that amplifies, unifies the fight for justice and law, including that of workers in the companies, banks, and commercial ports concerned by this sinister enterprise, must be promoted, supported, cultivated.Because we are human, only human, we refuse this barbarism, this negation of civilisation where capitalism gorges itself on profit from the annihilation of a people. To free Palestine is to free ourselves.
