While the Israeli government continues its methodical destruction of Gaza – 53,655 people killed according to Unicef, organised famines, hospitals razed to the ground – France is preparing to deliver machine gun components to it, manufactured by the Marseille-based company Eurolinks. The contract, revealed by Disclose, is the third such shipment between Fos-sur-Mer and Haifa since the beginning of 2025.
It was due to be executed tomorrow, Thursday, June 5, but the dockers have chosen to set the container aside and refuse to load it,, as announced by the CGT union. We commend this courageous stance.
Indeed, the cynicism of the executive, whose authorisation is required for this type of transaction, is absolute. While the Élysée claims to support an "immediate ceasefire," its departments are organising the re-arming of a criminal state. At the very moment when public opinion is turning and those who resist at the eleventh hour are issuing timid protests, the administration is busy loading the pallets.
It must be stated clearly: this delivery makes France an active accomplice to the massacre. It is not an error, nor a bureaucratic blunder, but the logical result of a strategic alignment with NATO powers and a growing submission to the interests of the arms industry. It is the militaristic counterpart to the criminalisation of support for the Palestinian cause on our soil.
In an authentic democracy, these decisions should be taken with full transparency, subject to public debate and parliamentary scrutiny. In the Fifth Republic, they are taken on the sly, between industrialists' boardrooms and defence corridors. That is why, beyond the immediate withdrawal of this export authorisation, there is an urgent need to change the regime: the Republic of arms dealers is not ours.
